Venture Out - CEEBL Green Award Results

Venture Out final awards ceremony on 10th December

Thanks to everybody who participated in the CEEBL Green Award for the Venture Out competition and particularly to those who attended the Venture Out final awards ceremony on Wednesday 10th December. The whole competition has been a brilliant demonstration of how many enthusiastic and enterprising students we have at the University of Manchester.

In total we received 21 imaginative green ideas from a total of 53 students!
Six entries were shortlisted by a panel of judges and groups had to prepare a poster for the final ceremony.

The shortlisted entries for the CEEBL Green Award were:

All shortlisted groups produced fantastic, creative posters and CEEBL were very impressed at the amount of thought and brilliant team work that went into them.

Each group had the opportunity to discuss their ideas with our panel of judges, who then had the tough task of making a decision.

First Prize

A joint first prize of £150 per team member goes to The Bamboo Bus and Bio-composites.co.uk “The natural fibre database".

Runner-up Prize

A runner-up prize of £150 to be shared between the team members goes to “The Green House”.

About the award

CEEBL Green Award offered students a fantastic opportunity to develop their team-working skills by introducing a new Venture>Out competition category.

The CEEBL Green award was aimed specifically at teams of students, and rewarded creative and imaginative ideas designed to make a positive impact on the environment. The nature of the competition is such that each student had the opportunity to:

  1. Explore issues surrounding sustainable living and sustainable development.
  2. Be creative and
  3. Develop their teamwork skills
