Student Learning and Teaching Network Event "Active Engagement in Learning Communities"

This event is being hosted at CEEBL on behalf of the Student Learning and Teaching Network (SLTN). The event will encourage students and staff to explore and discuss examples of students' actively shaping their learning.

CEEBL Postgraduate Workshop "Group Dynamics"

Enquiry Based Learning (EBL) is often based around small group work, with the tutor acting as a facilitator, setting triggers and goals and guiding the group through the enquiry process. Groups can experience communication problems during this process and this workshop aims to provide techniques and tools to help tutors deal with difficult group dynamics and encourage their student groups to self-regulate and take responsibility for themselves.

This workshop is specially targeted at postgraduates who run seminar groups/ tutorials/ small group exercises e.g. Graduate Teaching Assistants, etc., who want to improve their skills as facilitators.

CEEBL Postgraduate ONLINE Workshop for ENQUIRY-BASED LEARNING

Enrolment begins Thursday, 10th September 2009
The course runs for 6 weeks, concluding on 22nd October 2009

The online workshop allows you to work toward developing your skills as a teacher and facilitator over a longer period of time than just a one half-day session; it also means that you have a chance to read some significant essays focused on EBL as a pedagogical practice, as well as get more experience with the theory of EBL in both assigned and suggested readings.

Student Voice Conference - Wednesday 25th March

The conference brought together students from across the University of Manchester to present, discuss and debate their experiences of Enquiry-Based Learning. There were workshops for students, student presentations, facilitated discussion, a 'talking wall' and lots more. Venture Out workshop - Friday 21st November 12 - 3pm
